This year we got in Touch with him for birdwatching and after he proposed a trip to watch Turtles hatching. He said this tour would be the National Geographic version and it was. He picked us up at 3:45am and took us to the site. Pablo was very careful to explain the site to us and the importance of conservation and preservation of the site. Authentic breakfast was also served out at the site by locals that live out there.
This is a must see to believe kind of tour.
It was an early morning but well worth it.

The first was a walking bird-viewing tour, on and just off our all-inclusive resort in Huatulco. The tour is offered several times a week at no charge to resort guests. Pablo is very knowledgeable about the local birds and wildlife, providing lots of interesting information along the walk. He speaks great English and shared information in both Spanish and English. He shared his spotting scope with everyone. which was much appreciated especially by those of us who didn’t have binoculars. We managed to see 20+ species in an hour walk! Pablo shared his professional photos from the tour with everyone by sharing a QR code linked to his Facebook page. So nice to see all the special birds again in good quality photos. The birders and non-birders in our group all learned a lot and had fun.

We enjoyed Pablo’s wealth of local knowledge so much that we contacted him to arrange a baby turtle release excursion later that same week. He was very accommodating and offered to take us anywhere we needed in town before the drive to where we released the turtles (ATM, store ). He went out of his way to arrange a car seat for our toddler and provided a cooler for us to store our drinks and snacks. He took photos of us at the beach during the baby turtle release when the sun was setting. It was a truly magical experience and the highlight of our trip.

He is a true local gem. We were... read more there with 3 generations my wife and 16-year-old daughter and I, our friends and their 2 daughters and their grandparents. We did 2 separate excursions with Pablo: a trip to Las Brisas waterfall and surf lessons at Barra De La Cruz, his hometown. He easily managed the needs of all 8 of us, and was very generous with local knowledge answering all of our questions. Totally unbidden, he picked up fresh fish for us and brought us to a family-owned roadside restaurant for an unforgettable, authentic Mexican meal.

My daughter and her friend were new to surfing, and Pablo and his son Diego and his friends made sure they had a safe and rewarding afternoon in the surf with both of them getting up and surfing waves by the end!

Long story short, Pablo and his guiding were a big reason that we enjoyed our adventure in Huatulco and area so much, and why we will be returning as soon as we can. 10 out of 10!

We spent a night in his beautiful town of Barra de la Cruz last December and he took us to the waterfalls and Pluma Hidalgo. Pablo is so knowledgeable and cares about the environment, knows all the history and his so genuine. If you want the best experiences and not the usual touristy ones he is your guy.
